In Britain, this song became the B side of "Love Me Do". In America, this song became a single in its own right, reaching the top 10 two years later.
Paul's girlfriend at the time was Dot Rhone, who worked for a chemist and lived at home with her parents. She was a shy but sweet girl whom Paul had been dating for a while and who had become a regular guest at his family home.

Well, I just think it's worth noting that Johnny Mercer wrote a song of the same title, sung by Billie Holiday. I really don't know if there is any kind of connection, but as a person to look at a bunch of different generations' music, its interesting to see songs that outlive their creators by so much, i'm sure a bunch of you know how Ray Charles and Johnny Cash both did a number of Beatles covers too along with teh rest of the music loving world I suppose
