Doing It Anyway Lyrics
(v1)
Home is a consequence, made of all you think you want to
Life has not offered me anywhere that I'd call home
Pre-Chorus:
Did you want me to taste you? Can you touch me?
Did you want me to touch you? Can you feel me?
Did you want me to fuck you? Can you heal me?
You can't heal me - You can't know me
Chorus:
Sinking deep, much too deep, digging deeper than I ever cared to be
I don't think, I don't need, but I care about it
What's the point in doing it, anyway?
(v2)
You are a sacrifice, forced to not accept yourself
I can not offer you anything that you'd hold true
Truths often tell a lie; lies that I think you should know
Not that I realize. Just a simple fuck around
(v3)
I am a consequence
Made of all you think you want to know
Life has not offered me
Anywhere that you'd call home
Home is a consequence, made of all you think you want to
Life has not offered me anywhere that I'd call home
Did you want me to taste you? Can you touch me?
Did you want me to touch you? Can you feel me?
Did you want me to fuck you? Can you heal me?
You can't heal me - You can't know me
Sinking deep, much too deep, digging deeper than I ever cared to be
I don't think, I don't need, but I care about it
What's the point in doing it, anyway?
You are a sacrifice, forced to not accept yourself
I can not offer you anything that you'd hold true
Truths often tell a lie; lies that I think you should know
Not that I realize. Just a simple fuck around
I am a consequence
Made of all you think you want to know
Life has not offered me
Anywhere that you'd call home

Reading the lyrics as they are sung, it feels like the song is about Sex an STDs. The "can you heal me" bit makes me wonder what they\'d need to be healed of. \n\nIt could also be the after effects of Sex, where we question WHY we do it. Beyond the simple procreate thing built into all of us. \n\n"What\'s the point in doing it, anyway?" is what I get nowadays, sometimes even "pleasure" loses its meaning, and we will eventually look for a deeper meaning as to why we do it. \n\nJust my interpretation of it. Still awesome song.
