Polythene Pam Lyrics
Well you should see Polythene Pam
She’s so goodlooking but she looks like a man.
Well you should see her in drag.
Dressed in her polythene bag.
Yes you should see Polythene Pam – Yeh.
Get a dose of her in jackboots and kilt
She’s killer diller when she’s dressed to the hilt.
She’s the kind of a girl that makes the
News of the World.
Yes you could say she was attractively built – Yeh.

If a guitar could laugh it would sound like the guitar part in this song. This song is hilarious and somehow the Beatles can convey this through their instruments. Amazing.
Also, to reply to a comment that 'Robbie190' made almost five years ago... The lyrics of a song don't necessarily have to reflect the attitudes of the singer or the writer.

Polythene Pam was really Pat Dawson née Hodgett, a Beatles' fan who used to hang around with the group and eat polythene. But she never dressed in these, as this was taken from an incident involving a girl named Stephanie, whom John met in the Channel Islands on tour in August 63.
I have always loved the Abbey Road album, this song is funny as hell. I didn't know what the lyrics were, but I have always liked it.
Isn't it about a transexual?
Whatever, these lyrics are extremely confusing, and they should be. I mean, really, this song's lyrics can actually be twisted into John being a disturbed homosexual?
rockin' tune, hands down...woulda been tremendous live...'specially if they played the whole 'sun king medley' together... perhaps the whole 'looks like a man' part is just refering to her being muscular? or her attitude maybe? i dunno... I just can't see this character being a transexual...and how would that tie in with the mean mr mustard character?
@deadeyeduck Maybe it was a forerunner and hint for what The Kinks would do with their own song Lola
