This song is so awesome. I love how Dave played it for the Willie Nelson Special!!!!!! I think it's about a girl who tells a guy that she will love him forever and wait etc. and then forever became to long so she moved on and he came back and found out so now he has nothing there so he might as well keep going.

This is a beautiful cover ... I saw DMB play it live ... and was blown away. I have to admit, though, my favorite version is the Al Green one ... check it out if you're interested.
I was listening to Willie Nelson before I was born and have been a fan ever since. More recently I became a huge DMB fan. I thought it was cool that Dave became the fourth board member for Willie's charity organization, Farm Aid (along with Neil Young and Jon Mellencamp), and the only one added since it was founded in 1985. And it's even cooler that the two are good friends. I love Dave's take on this song. He shares Willie's ability to take someone else's tune and make it his own. I honestly think that anyone who is a fan of Dave's music would love Willie as well. They share many common attributes. This is a special cover.
