No Life Signed Her Lyrics

Take me down from the ridge where the summer ends
Watch the city spread out just like a jet's flame
I've got a secret for you, I cut your angel in two
I left her bleeding and soaked it with a dry sponge
No life for gingers now
No life for gingers now
No life for gingers now
(I can see it fade)

We've got a license to live, it's our only one
If it expires we float up to the dust haze
I've got a picture of you, I cut your angel in two
I saw her spinning and dripping on your new dress
No life for gingers now
No life for gingers now
No life for gingers now
(I can see it fade)

I always liked the "This guy's a fuckin' dick!" part

But I too hear "No life for gingers now." Always have. SM predicted the holy word of Eric Cartman.

I have to agree with chowfun18 on this one. Despite the song title, SM was always random, so it fits with the Pavement aesthetic.

It's "No Life Singed Her", "singed" being the past tense of "singe".

From thefreedictionary.com: singe (snj) tr.v. singed, singe·ing, sing·es

  1. To burn superficially; scorch.
  2. To burn off the feathers or bristles of (a carcass of a bird or animal) by subjecting briefly to flame. See Synonyms at burn1.
  3. To burn the ends of (hair, for example).
  4. To burn the nap from (cloth) in manufacturing. n. A slight or surface burn; a scorch.

I think it's closer to "no life for changes now, no life for changing now...etc", listen for it....it's a hell of a lot closer than gingers, which is sounds nothing like.

...or "no life will change her now"
