Sofa (Of My Lethargy) Lyrics

I wandered for a while
I didn't have that far to go
Waiting for a letter,
only to discover that I'm not the same
I know it to be true
you're only gonna to go again
standing at the harbour
there is only water to be talking to

I sold it to the trees
I didn't know which way to go
underneath the harbour, waiting for the sun to settle down
I own it to your dreams,
they always seem to bring me round
waiting at the harbour
there is only water to be talking to

Hold on now, all I wanna do is see you,
but everybody is here just sitting round staring at the ceiling
What you gonna find in your mixed up minds when you're dreaming?
Could be we're not like you at all

Hold on now, all I wanna do is see you,
but everybody is here just sitting round staring at the ceiling
Funny what you find in your mixed up mind when you're dreaming
Maybe we're not like you at all

This is a brilliant song. Supergrass deserve to be much bigger than they are. I Should Coco is my favourite album.

I love this song, though some of the lyrics throw me as well. As for the title, Supergrass often give thier songs pet names whilst they are recording them, so that could be the 'sofa' part, though also it kinda ties in with "everybody is here just sitting round staring at the ceiling" - he wasnts to see her but she's not there, and everyone is just sat there looking at the celing to aviod eye contact with him, like they know something he doesn't or he doesn't know them. Waiting at the harbour makes me think that's how the person was leaving and they've gone by the timemhe gets there, there's noone there to talk to except the water. Maybe, I don't know...just an idea!

Am I the only person who hear "I'm much the same" instead of "I'm not the same"? I think it would make more sense...
