This is such a sad song. Doing everything he can just to "keep this love alive" even though he knows that it just won't work out.

I was in a long-distance relationship with the man who I now realize was my soul mate. Stupid me walked away instead of being patient, little did I know that his job would bring him to my home state a mere two years later... Although we're not a couple now, we are amazing friends and I'd rather have him as my best friend than to have never met him.
