Classic love story true to his western tx roots. One of my favorites as a story, but I think there are alot of songs that are amazing not even listed on this site. I guess I should figure out how to add them, because I have about 8 REK cd's.
Hold up
Hold on
Don't be scared
You'll never change what's been and gone
May your smile (may your smile)
Shine on (shine on)
Don't be scared (don't be scared)
Your destiny may keep you warm
'Cause all of the stars
Are fading away
Just try not to worry
You'll see them someday
Take what you need
And be on your way
And stop crying your heart out
Get up (get up)
Come on (come on)
Why you scared? (I'm not scared)
You'll never change what's been and gone
'Cause all of the stars
Are fading away
Just try not to worry
You'll see them someday
Take what you need
And be on your way
And stop crying your heart out
'Cause all of the stars
Are fading away
Just try not to worry
You'll see them someday
Just take what you need
And be on your way
And stop crying your heart out
We're all of us stars
We're fading away
Just try not to worry
You'll see us someday
Just take what you need
And be on your way
And stop crying your heart out
Stop crying your heart out
Stop crying your heart out
Stop crying your heart out
Hold on
Don't be scared
You'll never change what's been and gone

Shine on (shine on)
Don't be scared (don't be scared)

'Cause all of the stars
Are fading away
Just try not to worry
You'll see them someday
Take what you need
And be on your way
And stop crying your heart out
Get up (get up)

Like a lot of the other comments are saying, I think this mainly about voyeurism. If the song was about his girlfriend, then why would he use the word spy. If you are a spy it means you shouldn't be caught, that is kind of the whole point, and if you are a voyeur, the whole point of the pleasure you get from it, is the fact that the other people don't know you are watching them. See a bit of a connection there?

Van Halen
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

This is one of my favorite songs. https://fnfgo.io
I heard this song when I first saw The Butterfly Effect when I was 12. I've had many friends in my childhood that I sometimes thought about like what they're doing now and where they are. Like my friend who just moved back into her old house after moving away like 10 years ago (she'll be leaving soon again), and my other friend who I haven't communicated and don't know her whereabouts to this day. This song and the movie reminds me of the year I met her. Even though our friendship was short-lived after I stopped coming to see her and found out she moved to who knows where just made me realize how valuable it was to share a bond with her after 10 months
"'cause all of the stars Are fading away Just try not to worry You'll see them some day Take what you need And be on your way And stop crying your heart out"
This part of the lyrics I'd say had predicted the return of my neighbor moving back in. I didn't think I'd ever see her again until I friended her on MySpace and did some catching up. Unfortunately I don't think I can say the same thing for my other one.
To me the whole point of what the song is saying is that friends come and go.
"You'll never change what's been and gone", even though you had good times but also bad times, you'll always have the memories together
'We're all of us stars We're fading away Just try not to worry You'll see us some day'
We may not see each other for a long time but sometime in the future, you will someday.
