The Letter Lyrics

The Letter (Wayne Carson Thompson)

give me a ticket for an airoplane
i ain't got time to take no fast train
oh ,the lonely days are gone
i'll be right home
my baby she wrote me a letter

i don't care how much money i got to spend
i won't find my way home again
oh the lonely days are gone
i'll be right home
my baby, she wrote me a letter

she wrote me a letter
said she couldn't live with out me no more
listen to me mister don't you ever xxxx
my baby once more
anyway

give me a ticket for an airoplane
i ain't got time to take no fast train
oh ,the lonely days are gone
i'll be back home
my baby she wrote me a letter

Cover art for The Letter lyrics by Joe Cocker

Well this was the first Joe Cocker song I ever heard and I still regard it as my favourite. I think the lyrics are pretty self explanatory, the song tells a story itself so there is no need to go into any meaning. It's just an example of great music performed by a great musician of our time

This song, i'm not shure, but i think it's by Beach Boys (played different). Joe Cocker include your style to the song with the tradicional emotion of his voice. Very nice interpretation by one of the bests in that art.
