Fatal Tragedy Lyrics
Nicholas:
Alone at night
I feel so strange
I need to find
All the answers to my dreams
When i sleep at night
I heard the cries
What does it means?
I shut the door and travelled to another home
I met an older man,he seemed to be alone
I felt that i could trust him
He talked to me at night
"Lad did you know a girl was murdered here?"
"This fatal tragedy was talked about for years"
Victoria's gone forever
only mermories remain
She passed away
She was so young
Without love
Without truth
There can be no turning back
Without faith
Without hope
There can be no peace of mind
As the night went on
I started to find my way
I learned about a tragdey
A mystery still today
I tried to get more answers
But he said "you're on your own."
Then he turned away and left me
As i stand there all alone
He said,"you'll know the truth
As your future days untold"
Without love
Without truth
There can be no turning back
Without faith
Without hope
There can be no peace of mind
Alone at night
I feel so strange
I need to find
All the answers to my dreams
I heard the cries

It\'s been pretty clearly stated by the band that Nicholas is indeed the reincarnation of Victoria.
It\'s also well stated that Edward was the killer and also the \"Witness\".
This particular song is about Nicholas visiting the house where Victoria was killed. I haven\'t read anything official myself, but there is speculation that the old man in the song is the reincarnation of Julian
@BuckALE I don't think the Old Man is the reincarnation of Julian. I think that because he is very old, he was still alive when Victoria and Julian were murdered.

in the story of metropolis part2 scenes from a memory: nicholas learns that he actually was victorias in his past life and the lyrics show his reactions to the tragedy befallen on his oast identity
I never knew what the words were for this song, since I've got a concert copy - I think I need to learn more about this
Nicholas wasn't Victoria. He was Victoria's boyfriend. "The witness" mentioned in another song was the real murderer. It took me awhile to realize that.
Werd ^. My favorite part in this is when the hard part kicks in.. Petrucci's solo effin rocks.
I really love the melody and music, but the writing seems really vague and raw, kinda childish considering it's a story..
This song blew my socks off clean.
One of the first DT songs I heard, it's brilliant.
The therapist is the re-incarnation of the killer, if you listen right at the end of Scene Nine - Finally Free, he says "Open your eyes Nicholas" which is exactly the same line as the killer who says "Open your eyes Victoria". Re-incarnated bodies who have had a strong connection in the past, it is said, attract each other, and live out the same issues again, and again. This is what they are exploring in this whole album.
