Money (That's What I Want) Lyrics
The best things in life are free, but you can give them to the birds and bees.
I need money.
That's what I want.
(That's what I want. That's what I want.)
That's what I want, that 's what I want.
(That's what I want. That's what I want.)
Your love gives me such a thrill, but your love don't pay my bills.
I need money.
That's what I want.
(That's what I want. That's what I want.)
That's what I want, that 's what I want.
(That's what I want. That's what I want.)
Money don't get ev'rything, it's true, but what it don't get I can't use.
I need money.
That's what I want.
(That's what I want. That's what I want.)
That's what I want, that 's what I want.
(That's what I want. That's what I want.)
Money, lots of money.
(That's what I want, uh huh.)
Whole lot of money.
(That's what I want, uh huh.)
Uh huh. Ah, ah, oh, yeah.
(That's what I want, uh huh. That's what I want.)

when did the beatles make this song and what album is it on? ive never heard it
They recorded it in 1963. It's on the album With The Beatles. One of their best covers, IMO.

This song is on their second album, 'With The Beatles', track 14. The song is not written by any of the beatles, it is one of their covers.
this song in underrated, is great, even if it wasn´t written by the beatles the lyric it´s a little ugly but it doesn´t matter
Better than this version is the one by...some obscure 80's band with a female vocalist...The Insects or someting like that.
They take it to another place. They push the form closer to the content and it sounds greedy and souless yet musical.
Brilliant!
I'm sorry, but I hate, hate, HATE that 80's version. This version is the only way to go. Better than the original, better than any version since. Excellent.
I think you guys are talking about the Pretenders' cover of this song because they have a female vocalist (Chrissie Hynde) and they formed in the late seventies. Also, the song was written by Janie Bradford and Berry Gordy and sung by Barrett Strong. I like the Beatle version best.
[Edit: BrNc]
i thought they meant the flying lizards
This version is good. But the original Barret Strong version is better.
Thank you for leading me to it.

It's nowhere in the same league, though.

"i thought they meant the flying lizards"
I hope so. I can't think of anyone who would call the Pretenders obscure... (btw, I am mandolinloser. cept a year older.)
Pretenders?
Pretenders?
All this time i had thought the flying lizards were the ones to come up with the amazing song! && i had always applauded them for being o innovative and they way they made it sound so cold and distant
the only reson why i found out the beatles sang this was because i went to look up their discography to organize my library & whaddayahhknow?!
never did i expect this to be a beatles song. i have never hear the beatles version but i doubt i would like it. it just doesnt go with their whole vibe, dont you think?
