Hare Krisna

Having had some rather close experiences with Hare Krishnas, I find this song very amusing. Bob Mould must have studied a bit to know who Radharani is, which makes it all the better.

"Zen Arcade" is full of 60's influence - I've always thought "Pink Turns to Blue" could have been a Nuggets classic if it wasn't 15 years too late. "Hare Krishna" bears a striking resemblance to the Strangeloves' "I Want Candy," which was a 60's pop hit. (Other than that though, the rest of the album bears resemblance to little of ANYTHING...except pure genius!)

yeah its pure genius, i love the whole zen arcade album, its one of the greatest 80ies albums, and in my opinion probably one of the best albums ever

Besides what's already listed, the rest of the lyrics are the Hare Krishna Maha mantra which goes;

I don't know what it all means, I just know what it is because of this song...

so who's Radharani? i could always go look it up... but, why leave me hanging? ;)

Yes. Blasphemy it is. The Hare Krishnas are a non profit organization. They try to educate people about the information they have about God. I never had a devotee bother me about money.......

They wanted to sound "weird" and came up with this boring song. Yeah, fans will justify its greatness, even the ripping off of older artists, the song is a scream for attention, "hey, we're not THAT punk, here, look, we're trying to be weird". Nah, I love this song, and the album, best album EVAAAAAAAAA.
