Street Fighting Man (The Rolling Stones cover) Lyrics

Everywhere I hear the sound of marching, charging feet, boy
'Cause summers here and the time is right for fighting in the street, boy
Tell me what can a poor boy do
'Cept for sing for a rock 'n' roll band
'Cause in this sleepy L.A. town
There's just no place for a street fighting man

A street fighting man
A street fighting man
A street fighting man

Do you think the time is right for a palace revolution
Where I live the game to play is compromise solution
Well then what can a poor boy
'Cept for sing for a rock 'n' roll band
'Cause in this sleepy L.A. town
There's just no place for a street fighting man

A street fighting man
A street fighting man
A street fighting man

Well what else can a poor boy do?
Well what else can a poor boy do?
Well what else can a poor boy do?
Well what else can a poor boy do?

Hey my name is called disturbance
I'll shout and scream, I'll kill the king, I'll rail at all his servants
Well what can a poor boy do
For sing for a rock 'n' roll band
In this sleepy L.A. town
There's just no place for
For a street fighting man

A street fighting man
For a street fighting man
A street fighting man
For a street fighting man
A street fighting man
For a street fighting man
A street fighting man
For a street fighting man
A street fighting man
A street fighting man
A street fighting man
A street fighting man
A street fighting man
A street fighting man
A street fighting man
A street fighting man

I think this is a cover of a Rolling Stone's song.

@Ar3s You think correctly!

Yes, it is a Stones' cover, minus all the lyrics about "kill(ing) the queen and all her ministers", which is why when Mick got his knighthood (man, was Keith disgusted with that) it was presented by her idiot son, charles, not the queen, who really knows how to hold a grudge. Stupid bitch. She's not even english.

Man when the revolution comes, this will be its anthem. Only we'll use the Stones version cos its better.

Oasis does a better cover of this song but nobody plays it like Mick and the boys.

This was probably the first Rolling Stones I heard, via RAGE, I didn't really like the original so much until I went back to it after becoming totally obsessed with Jumpin' Jack Flash (I still am-it kicks arss). Now I haven't heard Rage's version for a long time (my brother's CD). If only they would reform, Audioslave isn't exactly bringing out the best in them... As for Zach???

This is God awful cover. The Stones are the best in this song, even tho I generally don't like the stones except for this song and a few others. Renegades was not a good album. This, Kick out the James, and Renegades of Funk are the only songs I like.

Renegades kicked ass and RATM made the best version of this song.

Love the part where Morello makes his guitar sound like a machine gun
