Running Out Of Pain Lyrics
As he raises his hand you begin to understand
That no love is worth the hate that you feel
Now you're running out of pain
And all these feelings feel the same
So you close your eyes and wish it all away
And I lie awake and I try to say
Anything I know just to ease your pain
But you hide away where no one can see
And it's only you that can set you free
Now the time has come again
So you reach deep down within
To find the strength that you have buried there
As you turn to walk away you can still hear him say
You'll never make it in this world alone
You try to fight (you try to fight)
You hide the pain (you hide the pain)
You walk away (never again)
That no love is worth the hate that you feel
Now you're running out of pain
And all these feelings feel the same
So you close your eyes and wish it all away
Anything I know just to ease your pain
But you hide away where no one can see
And it's only you that can set you free
So you reach deep down within
To find the strength that you have buried there
As you turn to walk away you can still hear him say
You'll never make it in this world alone
You hide the pain (you hide the pain)
You walk away (never again)

This song... so many aspects, so many meanings. I personally feel that this song, it's saying that you hide from the things that hurt you deep within. So that no one can see. No matter what you do, no one can help ypu, except yourself. You pain won't go away, until you release it...
I can say, this song kinda relates to me. I keep so many feelings within, and I don't say one word.. I kide behind the pain. So many frustrations and so much stress..
I agree. This song makes me feel as I dont show my true feelings about how I feel. I hide them, because I do not want anyone to see. And its true. That i need to open up and let love in. So afraid your going to get hurt again. And I feel thats how I relate to this song. I could listen to this song forever, it has such good lyrics and its different than other songs that have the same lyrics and meaning.
i agree with both of u i feel the same way but i'm makin it a point to try to be more open about who i am now and this song inspired it so i just thought i'd say that later
If you sit quietly and listen to this song late at night You will find happiness, inside of sorrow, if you might Listen carefully hear what you will hear and feel But after this make sure and get on your knee and kneel
It took me a few listens to realize that this song is probably about someone who's being abused. Like she thinks she loves this guy, but he's beating her up, "As he raises his hand you begin to understand That no love is worth the hate that you feel" And the singer wants to help and comfort her.
Its funny... In an interview, Paul said that he wrote this song for a "lady friend" who was in an abusive relationship at the time.
When i first listened to the song I thought that it was about running from your own fears, but I think Xcalibur is right. If you listen to the words and read the lyrics, it's about a girl who is in an abusive relationship and the singer is telling her that she is the only person that can get herself out of it.
I think this song about how a girls had a series of violent relationships and shes thinking about taking her life, 'And it's only you that can set you free' Really great song all the same, makes me cry everytime :(
I agree, its about a girl in an abusive relationship. The verses are her 'story' And the chorus is the singer telling her that he can only do so much for her, she has to leave him. But she hides the fact she's being abused, He keeps telling her; "only you can set you free"
And in the second chorus, she breaks up with him. And as she walks away from his abusive hands, He tells her; "You'll never make it alone"
Yah I thought it was about someone in an abusive relationship.
I got this from the first line of the song: "As he raises his hand you begin to understand That no love is worth the hate that you feel"
It's like he's going to hit her, and she realises that she's supposed to love him not hate him.
