It's amazing
How you make your face just like a wall
How you take your heart and turn it off
How I turn my head and lose it all
It's unnerving
How just one move puts me by myself
There you go just trusting someone else
Now I know I put us both through hell
I'm not saying there was nothing wrong
I just didn't think you'd ever get tired of me
I'm now saying we ever had the right to hold on
I just didn't wanna let it get away from me
But if that's how it's gonna leave
Straight out from underneath
Then we'll see who's sorry now
If that's how it's gonna stand
When you know you've been depending on
The one you're leaving now
The one you're leaving out
It's aggravating
How you threw me on and you tore me out
How your good intentions turn to doubt
The way you needed time to sort it out
I'm not saying there was nothing wrong
I just didn't think you'd ever get tired of me
And I'm now saying we ever had the right to hold on
I just couldn't ever let you get away from me
But if that's how you're gonna leave
Straight out from underneath
Then we'll see who's sorry now
If that's how it's gonna stand
When you know you've been depending on
The one you're leaving now
The one you're leaving out
I'm not saying there was nothing wrong
I didn't think you'd ever get tired of me...
But if that's how it's gonna leave
Straight out from underneath
Then we'll see who's sorry now
If that's how it's gonna stand
When, you know you've been depending on
The one you're leaving now
Tell me, is that how it's going to end?
When you know you've been depending on
The one you're leaving now
I'm the one you're leaving now
The one you're leaving out...
How you make your face just like a wall
How you take your heart and turn it off

I'm the one you're leaving now
The one you're leaving out...

the absolute best break-up song ever. it's got the deep depression, and it's got a touch of the anger. It even goes in the right order ... first disbelief then sadness, then anger.
Well i dunno if this song will make u feel better, but it will definitely relate to u if u have relationship probs....its like the saddest song in the world...and its exactly how it all feels...great song
This song reminds me of an on again/off again relationship. Like the girl just depends on him, but she gets scared and leaves him and just tries to turn off her heart, and then she's sorry and wants to get back with him. And he knows what's happening and it makes him mad and it upsets him, but he still can't leave her behind completely. That's just the way the song seems to me, I love this song it's sooo beautiful.
This is such a sad but beautiful song. I first heard it right after my boyfriend and I broke up. Its exactly how I felt at the time. It still makes me cry sometimes but it is one of Matchbox 20's best.
what a great song. the line "I'm not saying there wasn't nothing wrong, I just didn't think you'd ever get tired of me" is just heartbreaking. this is about one of those relationships that never was quite "on", never exactly healthy ... and one person finally just got fed up and broke it off, leaving the other completely stunned.
I bought mad season, but never really listened to it a lot. then I saw matchbox 20 in concert that summer, and this song really got me back into the CD in a big way. it was all I listened to for the first few months of college
It's a really good song and it reminds me of an older guy that I love with all my heart.. I like the line "how you take your heart and turn it off" because that is what he has done.. Anyway, it's a great song!! :)
This song is fantastic.
The emotion in Rob Thomas's voice when he sings that last "I'm not saying there was nothing wrong I just didn't think you'd ever get tired of me" makes me burst into tears.
It's the culmination of all the hurt, anger and other emotion in this song.
Brilliance.
This is possibly the greatest song of all time!!! The meaning and words are great. It is a great song to listen to if you are having relationship problems, it will make you feel better.
Simply a beautiful song. I can't really say much more else that fits this song the way it deserves.
I love this song. It's gotten me through so many relationships since I've had the cd.
