! I have come up with a theory for what this means! It was gone in a moment... It happened so fast It went in a blaze... It went down bright, like a fire I felt so helpless... He felt like he couldn't do anything I feel so far away... He felt inhuman
Now then... I think this is talking about moments in life. Those happy times. They're moments that were so short that we often forget them, because we have so many sad times that overpower these small happy moments.
It's about rising above the bad times. cuz when you do you'll be stronger for it. Keep grindin' that fuckin' axe.
A phoenix, for those who don't know, is a mythical fire bird. When the phoenix dies, he is reborn out of the ashes.
This song is about being reborn out of the ashes of your old life. For example, I had an extremely difficult break-up many years ago. That break up changed everything in my life. This song is about picking up the pieces and starting over. For me, it is also about overcoming suicide (Don't take me now / I don't want to leave this place).
