Drunk Kid Catholic Lyrics
The drunk kids, the Catholics
They’re all about the same
They’re waiting for something
Hoping to be saved
Well, I have been happy the past couple days
Just thinking of the women who’ve taken your place
And every night I think I certainly won't ever sleep sober or alone
And then suddenly it occurs to me
I've slept alone before you
And so I pour myself the stiffest drink that my stomach can stand
And convince myself to lay back down again
I’m gonna lay back down, I’m gonna lay back down again
The drunk kids, the Catholics
They're all about the same
They’re waiting for something
Hoping to be saved
The drunk kids, the Catholics
They're all about the same
They’re waiting for something
Hoping to be saved
The drunk kids, the Catholics
They're all about the same
They’re waiting for something
Hoping to be saved
They crawl from the oceans
To paint in the caves
But I’m working all weekend
I need to get paid
They crawl from the oceans
To paint in the caves
But I’m working all weekend
I need to get paid
They crawl from the oceans
To paint in the caves
But I’m working all weekend
I need to get paid
They crawl from the oceans
To paint in the caves
But I’m working all weekend
I need to get paid
They’re all about the same
They’re waiting for something
Hoping to be saved
Well, I have been happy the past couple days
Just thinking of the women who’ve taken your place
And every night I think I certainly won't ever sleep sober or alone

Aw, such a beautiful song. I love "And then suddenly it occurs to me: I've slept alone before you.." Greatness.
I don't think this song is about catholics being drunks. I think it has more to do with the fact that most people drink and believe in God for solace. They want to believe that there is something that can save them. Religion is a forced addiction - like alcohol - people keep on going back, week after week, hoping to finally find that something to set them free.
this is an amazing song. i didn't think it was about drunk catholics at all... i thought he was talking about how they both are looking for something to be saved... comparing them- not combinding them. i don't know. amazing song though.
keep rocking, abbey
yea, agreed... "the drunk kids, the catholics" comparing... not combining. and i love it when kasher comes in. it's just magnificant.
im gonna have to agree with iggy. Everyone has their way of getting through tough times in life. Catholics fall onto their religion. Drunk kids drink. Both ways theyre just trying to be saved from reality. It seems to look that conor took the drunk kid route, and wants to make sure people dont think they're better than him...considering he went to a private school im guessing he drank and schoolmates acted like it was terrible...when theyre both just getting past harsh times.
he thinks hes happy without her, but when it comes time when hes all alone, he misses her. he doesnt want to, so he drinks.
hahahaha i havent heard this song but u can sure as hell bet im going to download it. what beautiful lyrics
