Gravity's Bringing Us Down Lyrics

Ba Da Ba Da Da Da x 3749837498475984759857

I never saw you up there
Cause you never made a sound
If I knew what you up to
I would have shot you down

Hey, would you say I'm on the rebound?
Watch me fall at the speed of sound
You trigger finger's cocked and I'm feeling weak
Open wide
I'm paralyzed

You were working on the inside
Disconnecting the alarm
I was mixing up your signals
Trying to turn me on

Hey, would you say I'm on the rebound?
Watch me fall at the speed of sound
You trigger finger's cocked and I'm feeling weak
Open wide
I'm paralyzed

Over the hill
The frequency is breaking down
Don't wanna guess but i think its time we turned around

I'm soft, but I'll be alright
Soft, but I'll be alright
Soft, yeah I'll be alright
Soooooft

Hey, would you say I'm on the rebound?
Watch me fall at the speed of sound
You trigger finger's cocked and I'm feeling weak
Open wide
I'm paralyzed

We're getting high
But we're still feeling down
Gravity has a way of pinning us to the ground

I'm soft, but I'll be alright
Soft, but I'll be alright
Soft, yeah I'll be alright
Soooooft

Lonely.. I'm just
Lonely.. I'm just
Lonely..

I think that the lyric marked as "You train your fingers, cocked(?)" is actually "Your trigger finger's caught"...does anyone agree?

actually, i think it is "cocked". but whatever it is, this song is still awesome.. maybe i'm taking it out of context because of situations i find myself in, but i think this song is about realizing someone you fell in love with is really toying with you and your emotions. gosh, i love beulah..

FAVORITE PART: "hey! would ya say, i'm on the rebound? watch me fall at the speed of sound. your trigger finger's cocked, and i'm feeling weak; open wide, i'm paralyzed" AND "i'm just lonely, i'm just lonely, i'm just lonely.."

a really good song. not as good as "if we can put a man on the moon, then surely i can win your heart," but a great song nonetheless. beulah is awesome. and yes its definitely "my trigger finger's caught"

It's not. Its caught. You know how when you see someone actually say the word you can tell the difference between say a ocked sound and an aught sound? Well i saw them and Miles definitley said caught. Hope that clears things up.

"You train your fingers, cocked"

translates into

"You're trigger finger's caught"

If it had been talking about the actual TRIGGER, then it would be plausible that the words were 'cocked' and not 'caught'. However, they are talking about the trigger FINGER, that is to say, the finger on the trigger.

How often do you cock your finger? You can cock a trigger, not a finger. Therefore I can assure you it is 'caught'.

Uggh, stop nitpicking... I love the almost country twang at the start... after I first heard this, for days I just always found myself absentmindedly singing that first verse, "I never saw you up there/ cuz you never made a sound/ if i'd a known what you were up to/ i would a shot you down"

Beulah is so catchy... just great feel-good music

I think this song is actually a guy singing about how much he hates gravity. Am I crazy in thinking this?

Either way, it's a great song, and I can't help but I dance when I hear those opening bars.
