To me this song always seemed to about being in love with a metalhead/headbanger, etc., it was wrote by Bittencourt, so it was probably about some girl in his life.

“You live in a world that is just Way too strange to conceive” The world the girl lives in is just way to strange for him to understand.

“Angel's dressed in black Most of the people who seem to be Lost in the dark

• Are they all too real?” The angels here could possibly be about other girls, they all seemed to be lost in dark, but this solitude of them, was it real or they just wanted to be depressed?

“Always a good time, never lonely Suddenly realized the blood red tears from my eyes There was nothing much I could do But watch you die” Always a good time being with her, then, he realized what it was about, maybe she was not into him, so, there was nothing he could do, but watch her die, understand this as she going away, or simply watching his love for her fading away.

“Time after time Burnt your wings on the sun Metal Icarus” The sun was probably the girl, and he, Rafael, was Icarus (Metal from Heavy Metal, of course), and he burnt his wings when he got too close to her.

“First time I met you I wanted To be by your side And let my hair grow long Those days are gone But I still fly by night Bringing life to the dead” To me it seems as clear as possible, he just describing the time he met the girl, he wanted to be part of her group, those days are gone (days that he was in love, imagining she was perfect) but he’s still with the friends he knew when she was with her.

It was believed to be about Iron Maiden, as Angra has always been an ardent fan. (...First time I met you I wanted to be by your side and let my hair grow long ...) Plus, this song was written during Blaze Bayley on vocals, which was believed to be Maiden 'bad patch' era. (...There was nothing much I could do but watch you die ...)
