This is a beautiful song. It's about loving someone who needs help in some way and being there for them no matter what, even if the person sees you only as a friend and doesn't love you back. It fits with Matt's self-label of "every girl's best friend".

I think this song is about a girl who has always looked at this guy as the "best friend". He was always there for her, and she never realised that he has always been in love with her.
