In Spite of All the Danger Lyrics
In spite of all the danger
In spite of all that may be
I'll do anything for you
Anything you want me to
If you'll be true to me
In spite of all the heartache
That you may cause me
I'll do anything for you
Anything you want me to
If you'll be true to me
I'll look after you
Like I've never done before
I'll keep all the others
From knocking at your door
In spite of all the danger
In spite of all that may be
I'll do anything for you
Anything you want me to
If you'll be true to me
In spite of all the heartache
That you may cause me
I'll do anything for you
Anything you want me to
If you'll be true to me
I'll do anything for you
Anything you want me to
If you'll be true to me
In spite of all that may be
I'll do anything for you
Anything you want me to
If you'll be true to me
That you may cause me
I'll do anything for you
Anything you want me to
If you'll be true to me
Like I've never done before
I'll keep all the others
From knocking at your door
In spite of all that may be
I'll do anything for you
Anything you want me to
If you'll be true to me
That you may cause me
I'll do anything for you
Anything you want me to
If you'll be true to me
I'll do anything for you
Anything you want me to
If you'll be true to me

This technically isn't a Beatles song at all, fair enough it did have Lennon, McCartney and Harrison but it also had Colin Hanton and John Lowe playing, the band would still have been The Quarrymen for another two years, sorry to be such a pedant
These lyrics allure me because of the reference to danger in love on such an early stage in rock history, when tipically subject-matter of songs was naively optimistic. The notion of danger prompts images of a forbidden love, much like a Romeo-Juliet sort of story. It even manages to makes you think that the singer (Lennon, or whoever would sing it) is foretelling all the conflicts that arise in a long-term adult relationship.
I would love to listen to this song covered by Yo La Tengo with its lyrics sieved by this trio sensibility.
credited to McCartney/Harrison one of the oldest beatles original songs
this was the very first song recorded by what would become the beatles. It was recorded with Buddy Holly's That'll Be The Day in the late 50s.
Yes, McCartney/Harrison. What a strange credit. Good song though, for being so primitive and early in their relationship.
I definitely love this song, even though they never released it. A good McCartney/Harrison hit... I love the ahhs that are in it, so melodic!
