Sidewalking Lyrics
Chilled to the bone and five miles to home
I'm messing in the dark and feeling all alone
I got ice in my fire got the heat in my wire
Inject a little heat I'm burning up the tyres
Sidewalking sidewalking sidewalking sidewalking
Talking like I'm on and I'm the only one
I'm making like I'm done and staring like a gun
And I gotta get a car and I gotta get a ride
Gotta get a car got jesus on my side
Sidewalking sidewalking sidewalking sidewalking
Messing in the dark and walking all alone
Alone in the streets I know just where I'm going
Sidewalking sidewalking
Chilled to the bone Chilled to the bone
Hot wired heat all the way home
I'm messing in the dark and feeling all alone
I got ice in my fire got the heat in my wire
Inject a little heat I'm burning up the tyres
I'm making like I'm done and staring like a gun
And I gotta get a car and I gotta get a ride
Gotta get a car got jesus on my side
Alone in the streets I know just where I'm going
Chilled to the bone Chilled to the bone
Hot wired heat all the way home

Nice Suitboy, I'd say yer spot-on
i think it's about a crackhead walking down the street at night all cracked out.
I love this song. I first heard this in a club in my area which always evokes fond if bittersweet memories, and bought the "Barbed Wire Kisses album as soon as it was commercially available.
This song has always seemed to me to describe a period of messed-up confusion, with some idea of how to get back to "normal", if not enthusiastically.
A mix of emotions on the long walk home after a night out - at once lonely, vulnerable, tired and cold and righteous and invincible.
I think its about buying speed
