oh my gosh this is a awsome song! basicly its what it says he is leaving. but he's leaving someone he loves but he feels as if he it moveing off in a good direction

even though the lyrics are pretty self-explanitory, i cant beleive more people havent commented on this! its my favorite song from De Stijl!

Although not in the same context of the song, quite the opposite really, that's exactly how I feel towards a girl right now.

simplicity is key to this song yea its pretty obvious, but thats wat makes it so great the guy is leaving the one he loves (or is thinkin about doing it) and he feels it needs to be done this song cudnt be done any better

Has been my favorite song from the White Stripes since I first heard it. As Anarchy_Insane has already noted, the great thing about this song is that the feeling it evokes is independent of context - I've definitely felt I could relate to this song at various points in my life when I've had to (physically) move on from one place to another, leaving people behind (though not necessarily permanently).

This is such a great song i also can not belave more poeple havnt comented on this song!

I like that "Bound" has several meanings in this song. First being tied or destined; the break-up was bound to happen because the love was gone. Second, traveling to a place, for example, "homeward bound". Third, making a huge leap; making the decision that now is the time to end the relationship. With the word "bound", the writer has summed up the song. The relationship was bound to end, he is the one to bound out of it, and he is bound for his next distination.

Awesome fact; Paul Henry Ossy is Jack's cousin.

...and yes, this song is about leaving. Possibly leaving a broken relationship that's been doomed for a long while.
