This song is absolutely amazing.
I absolutely love this song, it is the only one I have heard by Chris Bell and by far one of my favourite songs. The meaning is fairly simple, it is about jealousy in a relationship, whether it is due to the woman in it having an affair or whether it is simply based upon paranoia I have not worked out.
Yeah pretty much he's jealous and heartbroken about a girl. I love how this is the first song that starts playing in the movie Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist.
Chris Bell was gay and also battling drug addiction which was the cause of his depression, so I am guessing this song is not about a woman.
