Here Right Here

I love this song.. It is really beautiful. I thought this song might have some religious-undertone to it (since they do hint at Christian messages often), but my perspective has changed a bit after reading someone's journal in which their experience seems to fit perfectly with this song: I think the song has to do with the singer knowing an area from the past, and coming back to that area but realizing all of the changes which have occurred while he has been away - the area 'demoralized'. Hm, actually, this could get complicated.. so to put it simply: Coming back to an area which haunts him a bit due to everything kind of becoming corrupt, but still finding cover/safety/peace in the 'underground'/unchanged areas, and he feels they could take back the land if they wanted to. ("they" being someone else he knows well from the area) .. "we could take over"

that might be stretching it a bit, but that's my opinion as of now.

the part that sticks out to me in this song is "everything's here right now, all that is is what is now" its kind of like being in a place in your life where all the decisions you are making are based on what you are feeling at the moment instead of considering the future or even other aspects of yourself. its kinda like being stuck in a rut. being stuck in a place where everything around you is telling you that its okay to live for the moment and in this case..to demoralize yourself. this song is very much me right now, but for some reason it gives me hope. i guess to be able to see in these lyrics that that's what im doing, it kinda gives me the strength and the desire to wanna rise above it. the line "ive been out here for so long" its like..its either become so familiar, or you feel so hopeless that it feels like there's no other way..but the cool thing about this song is that it doesnt necessarily resolve the conflict..at least not that i have found yet..but it kinda lays it out there for ya, and you have to find your own resolution. i kinda like that.
