Light up everybody

Light up and be happy
Sweet, sweet sounds will fill the air
Every day's a holiday when your lips meet mine
The music's keepin' time with our love
You are here, and so am I
The weather's quite divine
So pass me round your wine, lovely one
All I need is just one hit to get me by
'Cause baby when your near I'm halfway high
Light up, everybody

Almost sounds like a church song, except it's about smoking pot. If the lyrics aren't enough proof, listen to the sound just before the first sung words.
My dad disagrees, but I think that, as part of being high, he imagines his marajuana joint to be singing to him.
And so he advises everyone to get one of their own.
"pass me round your wine" - sure sounds like the joint is asking him to "share the love," so to speak.
Great song.
The obvious play to marijuana is and was evident back then ('75). The middle section also deals with physical love:
Every day's a holiday when your lips meet mine The music's keepin' time with our love You are here, and so am I The weather's quite divine So pass me round your wine, lovely one
It's pretty blatant what the singer wants from his love here.
Moral of the story? You're pretty damn lucky if this song matches your life.
If you listen very carefully to the last 50 seconds or so of the song, you can clearly hear the words "smoke dope" being sung in the background several ttimes.
This is about lighting up a joint or a pipe and enjoying being with someone. This is the first song STYX played at a concert in Omaha, Nebraska USA circa 1976
