Dead Trees And Traffic Islands Lyrics
Paralysis through analysis
Yellow moral unclean decay
Silence begins to hurt me now
The sunshine it fades away
Syllables have now disappeared
How could this happen to me?
How could this happen to me?
But now, I feel so weakDead trees and traffic islands never meet
Is this, is this my defeat?
This purgatory for beginners
Dead trees and traffic islands
Tolerance slips away
Body shrugs and says "hello" once more
Paint the walls within my mind
Clandestine, brain finished, period
Lips turn grey, inside turns out
I show little defence
I show little defence
But now, I feel so weak
Dead trees and traffic islands never meet
Is this, is this my defeat?
This purgatory for beginners
Dead trees and traffic islands
Yellow moral unclean decay
Silence begins to hurt me now
The sunshine it fades away
How could this happen to me?
How could this happen to me?
Is this, is this my defeat?
This purgatory for beginners
Dead trees and traffic islands
Body shrugs and says "hello" once more
Paint the walls within my mind
Clandestine, brain finished, period
I show little defence
I show little defence
Dead trees and traffic islands never meet
Is this, is this my defeat?
This purgatory for beginners
Dead trees and traffic islands

Yes

I read somewhere that Nicky Wire wrote a script intended for Jimmy McGovern for a tv drama where a serial killer dumps bodies on traffic islands, not sure whether tongue in cheek but an interesting conceptual idea which apparently partially inspired the lyrics.
