Born To End Lyrics
Get some pain and I feel alive - born to end
Close my eyes overdose on hell - born to end
Get run over by no direction - born to end
Breathing dead and I'm born to end - born to end
Fall to the floor my baby (baby)
I no longer believe (baby)
Fall to the floor my baby (baby)
I've lost the love to sleep
H-bomb the only thing that will bring a freedom to life
Underneath the blue skies beautiful empty dying
Nagasaki dolls are burning
Europe freed by McDonalds and Levi's - born to end
Can't afford it so I hate it all - born to end
Images linger like repression - born to end
Concentration camps of our dreams - born to end
Fall to the floor my baby (baby)
I no longer believe (baby)
Fall to the floor my baby (baby)
I've lost the love to sleep
H-bomb the only thing that will bring a freedom to life
Underneath the blue skies beautiful empty dying
Nagasaki dolls are burning
H-bomb the only thing that will bring a freedom to life
Underneath the blue skies beautiful empty dying dolls
Beg for mercy
Pray for war
Close my eyes overdose on hell - born to end
Get run over by no direction - born to end
Breathing dead and I'm born to end - born to end
I no longer believe (baby)
Fall to the floor my baby (baby)
I've lost the love to sleep
Underneath the blue skies beautiful empty dying
Nagasaki dolls are burning
Can't afford it so I hate it all - born to end
Images linger like repression - born to end
Concentration camps of our dreams - born to end
I no longer believe (baby)
Fall to the floor my baby (baby)
I've lost the love to sleep
Underneath the blue skies beautiful empty dying
Nagasaki dolls are burning
Underneath the blue skies beautiful empty dying dolls
Pray for war

This song is about the futility of life.
Probably not about post communist eastern europe as the this song was written so soon after the USSR and the Soviet Block were disolved. More likely about the futility/emptiness of a consumer culture.
the beginning bit, "Get some pain and I feel alive" seems to me to be about how the self abuse richey dealt with was the thing that kept him real. that statement has always rung true for me so just what i think.
and i guess the rest is about consumerism and how it is destroying our culture, or in fact has BECOME our culture.
The last time Sean did backing vocals...
I think I read that's it's about how Eastern Europe is really no better off after Communism
One of my favorite Manic Street Preacher songs, i love the riff and James Voice on this song. I agree with Zep about the lyrics. I think it's about eastern europe and thinks havn't improved.
The whole new idea of communism was born, just to end as quickly.
they're pro communist tho
Socialists methinks...social conscience.
I don't think we mean Communist. That's as fukstoopid as Fascism.
I don't think they're silly.
The music's crackin though
