Dead Horse Lyrics

Get off your horse and ride (x2)
(ride...)

Garbage man from door to door
You serve the rich and skip the poor
Because they beg and borrow
(cause they beg and borrow)
Redemption draweth near you say
Salvation has a price today
Works without faith is dead
(works without faith is dead)

Money money makes us clean
The more you give the more recieved
On Sunday Sunday Sunday
(Sunday Sunday Sunday)
Buying fath to heal our scars
Salvations on a credit card
You are selling God
(you are selling God)

Dead Horse (x2)
Ride the Dead Horse
Ride on the Dead Horse

Get off your horse and ride (x2)
(ride...)

Jesus paid the price for sin
And that is how you're cashing in
Sermon on the profits
(sermon on the profits)
Can the streets be made of gold
And when your house is styrofoam
Your glass will cut through diamons
(glass will cut through diamonds)

Round and round the basket goes
Then buy your wife new barbie clothes
Both of them are plastic
(both of them are plastic)
Stealing money from the fools
And build yourself a swimming pool
But it's full of gasoline
(and it's full of gasoline)

Dead Horse (x2)
Ride the dead horse
Dead Horse

Cover art for Dead Horse lyrics by Rackets & Drapes

This song is talking about how some preachers, evangalists and churches will use the Word of God to get money. Claiming that the more they give the more God will bless them. These people/churches also completely ignore those who have no money and who are in need. This type of ministry is full of evil and lies. R&D is pretty much saying, "Get off your high horse...it is dead." The horse, being a metaphor for their ministry.
