What Might Have Been Lyrics
Sure I think about you now and then
But it's been a long long time
I've got a good life, I moved on
So when you cross my mind
I try not to think about what might have been
Cause that was then
And we have taken different roads
We can't go back again, there's no use giving in
And there's no way to know what might have been
We could sit and talk about this all night long
And wonder why we didn't last
Yes they might be the best days we will ever know
But we'll have to leave them in the past
So try not to think about what might've been
Cause that was then
And we have taken different roads
We can't go back again
There's no use giving in
And there's no way to know what might have been
The same old look in your eyes
It's a beautiful night, I'm so tempted to stay
But too much time has gone by
We should just say goodbye
And turn and walk away
And try not to think about what might have been
Cause that was then and we have taken different roads
We can't go back again
There's no use giving in
And there's no way to know
No we'll never know, what might have been
But it's been a long long time
I've got a good life, I moved on
So when you cross my mind
Cause that was then
And we have taken different roads
We can't go back again, there's no use giving in
And there's no way to know what might have been
And wonder why we didn't last
Yes they might be the best days we will ever know
But we'll have to leave them in the past

And turn and walk away
Cause that was then and we have taken different roads
We can't go back again
There's no use giving in
And there's no way to know
No we'll never know, what might have been

this song to me means so much! it's about still loving someone after so many years but both people tried to forget, and they moved onwith there lives while thinking about each other .it's hard loving someone for so long and they are locked so deep iside it hurts.they still look back to the past and see what went wrong and what might have been if they would've stayed together .
This song is just amazing. I was looking through websites about people all around the world who still continue to think about their first loves and its been years for them. Doesn't matter how good or bad the situation when the person left but the whole meaning behind it all is how they changed your life. I think about him everyday and its been a long time since I seen him. Even though I have my own life now. I will never forget him.
hm..cool

i first heard this song while in the car with my parents and they were listening to the country station (gag) but anyway.. this song came on and it reminds me of my old summer love sigh but I have a new boyfriend now, and we both have moved on... so sad... so sad tear

This is a great song, it has such a strong meaning to it. Everytime I hear it, I cry! It reminds me so much of my ex and I! We still love each other, but both of us have moved on, and look back at what we had together! Such a great song, most people don't understand these types of songs, until they actually experience what is happening!!
Has anyone ever seen the Video for this song? It is amazing. Its about an old man recalling a love from WW2 with his son and grandson.
@oocaptainoo And at the end, he actually runs into that old love. He was a Navy sailor and she was a nurse who tended to him.

I remember the video. It was great, and you can still catch it on Youtube.
One last thing: After that goodie, this song came on and I was still smiling. Although the tears started bursting midway through the song, I knew right then and there my life was never going to be the same again from that moment on. They were tears of sadness but release and hope. I dedicate this last song to my one. But I wasn't his so that that's why this song fits perfectly. Toodles
