Wind Through The Trees Lyrics
Oh my deserted one
You must put down your father's gun
When the sundial reaches midday
Shut your eyes and then look away
Something's wrong, they're all gone
I will walk through the long, long grass and say your name
Shot through the chest and head
She killed everyone stone dead
And the wind blew once more through the trees
Now she's coming straight back to me
Little things, the insect's sting
I will walk through the long, long grass and say you're
Running from the dark
Look what you have done
Running from the dark Look what you have done
But you can't run from me
'Cause I'm the wind through the trees
No you can't hide from me
Running from the dark
Look what you have done
Running from the dark
Look what you have done
But you can't run from me
'Cause I'm the wind through the trees
No you can't hide from me
'Cause I'm the wind through the trees
You must put down your father's gun
When the sundial reaches midday
Shut your eyes and then look away
I will walk through the long, long grass and say your name
She killed everyone stone dead
And the wind blew once more through the trees
Now she's coming straight back to me
I will walk through the long, long grass and say you're
Look what you have done
Running from the dark Look what you have done
But you can't run from me
'Cause I'm the wind through the trees
No you can't hide from me
Look what you have done
Running from the dark
Look what you have done
But you can't run from me
'Cause I'm the wind through the trees
No you can't hide from me
'Cause I'm the wind through the trees

The most delicate, beautiful song.. the words contrast the song so much that it's incredibly haunting. I wonder if the meaning of it is what it immediately comes across as, or if theres a big story behind it.. hmm
I'm not sure about the actual meaning of the song, but it always puts me in mind of Sojiro from "Rurouni Kenshin" -- the creepy, emotionless kid who killed his family. Which I guess says something about the song.
Whenever I listen to this song, the imagery reminds me of the movie Stealing Beauty.
very eerie
Yes, a very eerie haunting song. It just feels like the music is a calm, floating aftermath of a murder. I first heard this song about seven years ago. A young woman was murdered in a wooded area near where I live and her body found in a creek. There is a bicycle path that runs through that area (and there are still artificial flowers attached to the bridge railing overlooking that muddy creek). This song would remind me of the creepy feeling I got when I cycled through there.
This song is a thing of beauty, so dark, so melancholic, so beautiful.
