I have a very different take on it. I think that they're reenacting and satirically portraying the boring aspect of "normal" mankind. Kind of a way to say I'd rather be a heretic standing by myself than a conventional idiot. Everthing in the song is routine and recycled behavior which is not something common among MP songs, and the name Jorge Regula resembles Jorge Regular. Since people must make fun of their lifestyles daily they must have compiled this song as a way to make fun of them for being normal.
I have to say I disagree with 'sublimechump', I think they're celebrating the routine and the comfortable little things in life. Its about being able to do all these stupid pointless things but still truely enjoy them because you are with someone who makes it worthwile. Every single human being on the planet does the things they list, how can The Mouldy Peaches be saying they do things differently?, they 'walk down the street' and 'wake up'and 'go to sleep' and eat just like everyone else, there are even two lines about them wrighting a new song in amongst the...

Also in the lyric "I'm the A.F.N.Y. guy" (misspelled above)they are stating that they, the anti-folk new york people, are just the same as everyone else,'Jorge Regula' is 'Joe Regular' directly translated into Spanish, even though they seem somehow brighter and more exotic than the average person, their lives are just 'Joe Regular' the same as everyone elses and they are happy to be so because they have a person that makes it special.
wow sublimechump. i didn't even think about it like that. that makes a lot of sense. i just looked at it like "oh...how cute. they love each other." but this is a completely different look on it and it makes so much more sense!

I can't believe no one has commented on this Peaches song! It's one of my absolute favorites. I can just see this relationship in my head...it seems really intimate but so casual. Like these people just get each other, you know? It really would be my ideal relationship - some food, some beach, some sleep.

For me this is just a song about a normal (regula...regular?) guy and his life. Food/social life, work, music, girlfriend. I don't get the afy thing though.
