Poison free, now living life so pure.
Tell me, have all your addictions been cured?
When you mark your fist, what’s going through your mind?
Is this your new fix? Ensnared again, confined.

Transference of one addiction to another, you haven’t solved a thing.
All you’ve done is change the game you’ve been playing.
Different equipment, the rules are the same -
The goal remains unscathed.
Just looking for acceptance and the power that it brings.

Push yourself to higher heights - rise above the herd.
Straightedge isn’t the answer if the decision isn’t yours.
Push yourself higher. Think about the life you live.
Have your standards been met?
Or have you rooted yourself - cemented in and set?

Projection of your addiction to another; the mind is a powerful tool.
Consume a symbol you’ve now become addicted to.
Just one of the pack with a pat on the back, marked fist finger in the air.
Tell me would you, tell me could you, if your friends were not there?

This is my choice; I made it, I live by it. My life is my own.
This is my choice; I made it, I live by it. Are you in control?

a song to listen to for everyone who's ever claimed straight edge. or has been thrown into that scene by association, and despaired of it... yeah.

This is a great song. Its about people that are only straight edge because its the cool thing to do or just because all there friends are doing it, but they become so obsessed with it it basically becomes like a drug. In the end when Marc says "this is my choice i made it i live by it my life is my own" hes saying hes chosen himself to be straightedge and hes gonna stay that way no matter what, and in the next line when he says are you in control hes talking about the people that do it cause of there friends asking are they in control of there lives

Haha, i was watching Life of Brian the other day cause i was bored and then i realized that the clip from the end is when Brian was talking to the crowd of people following him. The clip explains alot about the song. People say they are diffrent just to be the same and will do most anything to impress their peers.

Yeah, great song. Thought Riot is straight edge, but the song is about the people that do it just to fit in or to be cool. If you're gonna be edge, do it because it's the path for you and make sure its your own choice. Don't do it because somebody else is.

Techno Ted
Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.
