Pulse Rate Lyrics
I should write a report
On why we change day to day
With hours and hours of research
And humans locked up in a cage
Then tally the data
With the results inconclusive
Damnit I've been at this one for years
And still no answer
Put under a microscope
By my own free will
Take my own blood samples
Search for imbalanced chemicals
CAT scan for holes in my brain
And pulse rate my heart
But there is one last concern
It seems I may drive them away
Friends and family always running from me these days
I ask myself, like any analyst would
"Chris how do you always manage to fuck up
Every last thing you have that is good?"
Put under a microscope
By my own free will
On why we change day to day
With hours and hours of research
And humans locked up in a cage
With the results inconclusive
Damnit I've been at this one for years
And still no answer
By my own free will
Search for imbalanced chemicals
And pulse rate my heart
It seems I may drive them away
Friends and family always running from me these days
"Chris how do you always manage to fuck up
Every last thing you have that is good?"
By my own free will

Wow, I can't believe these lyrics are actually up. Whatever it Takes are probably my favorite local pittsburgh band. They are also great guys that I've had the pleasure of spending some time with.
This song is amazing live, and to me, it's about taking a good look at yourself and taking stock of your life.
I agree with you Mr. D!
I definately think it's about self-examination and trying to improve your self.
