I think the “there’s something crawling on my skin” refers to tactile hallucinations. One common one is feeling bugs crawling in your skin. I get these, but I feel like they are just crawling on my skin. I also read online that this is a symptom of bad mental health in general. Which is why it’s “an indication of the shape i'm in.” I think the writer is also very analytical especially of themself so they know all their issues, flaws, limits, maybe even how to help themself, and the origins. Explaining “totally aware of where i am and how far down.” However even if you have the answers you still need help to get to where you need to be. You still need accommodations in everyday life, and people to be your support system

I wanna talk about the last 2 lines first. I think the 3rd line is the writer talking about being independent as a child likely due to some sort of abuse from the mother, or father. The mother also can’t help the writer improve their mental health maybe the mom struggled with her own, or is unwilling. Now about the first 2. I think constantly having to deal with abuse, and only relying on yourself as a child has caught up with them. Now their mental health is deteriorating, and they can’t hide it either. People are starting to notice they aren’t a happy, or healthy person

Overall I think this song is about asking for help, or for all your issues to be magically taken away, or for help to hide how bad your sadness has gotten. Either way you’re stuck, and not going to get help. It’s kind of a relatable song tbh
