Broken Lyrics
see? the tide is turning now
and i'm fading, fading
i have no excuses anymore
this is where i wanted to be
you've twisted me out from the inside
and you've hung me in the wind
you are my weakness
you may be my downfall
i'm helpless as you move away
i am empty, aimless
i have no illusions anymore
they just ran right out of me
and every day i'll fight
not to miss you
every day i'll lose
you are my weakness
you may be my downfall
so just leave me here
with my tortured heart
or stay and watch as i cut it out
you are my weakness
you may be my downfall
i don't know really,
really what you want from me
i don't know what you really want from me
but you will be my downfall
and i'm fading, fading
i have no excuses anymore
this is where i wanted to be
you've twisted me out from the inside
and you've hung me in the wind
you may be my downfall
i am empty, aimless
i have no illusions anymore
they just ran right out of me
and every day i'll fight
not to miss you
every day i'll lose
you may be my downfall
with my tortured heart
or stay and watch as i cut it out
you may be my downfall
i don't know really,
really what you want from me
i don't know what you really want from me
but you will be my downfall

i was sad to see only one person commented on this beautiful piece of imagery ... i've had a personal experience which has related to this song ... the person wasn't gone ... he just challenged me ... left me out in the open to think for myself, hence the "you've twisted me out from the inside and you've hung me in the wind" ... to think that they are your downfall because you can't control things with them ... it's so unprecedented ... so much raw emotion...
I am quite certain this song is about DRUGS, ladies and gentlemen.
You are my weakness you may be my downfall
Don't forget this band is called Tapping the Vein.

This one may be about a love relationship, but also about some other kind of relationship (tensioned close friendship, mother-daughter etc.), also about addiction, about an obsession or about a mental illness/personality disorder (I'm thinking manic-depressive, everyday she fights not to miss the "highs" when she's in the "lows").

Still being unable to hurt the one you have been rejected by. Been there too many times. Holding the knowledge that while it is self destructive, it is something that they cannot change, even when the person is gone, 'and everyday I'll fight, not to miss you, every day i'll lose'.
So true yet really powerful...
this song is about a break up. i asked the band. thats what they said.
