Some rappers feel a need to curse just to serve a purpose point
But I don’t really have to, knowing this will be the hypest joint
Case in point, if you want to really get that across
Then look deep into your soul and pull the deepest of thoughts
“F” this, “F” that, you say your mama’s on crack
Disrespecting females when you say that’s who you smack
But your rules are bent wack, I’m about to attack
Taking up for all who feel the world is off track
Corrupted and bleeding, disrupted in meaning
If you don’t comprehend, pull your Webster then begin reading
We’re killing our seedlings along with your fans
Every time you put a curse in a verse you fry it in a pan
I hope you’re listening man, because this message is relevant
To many it might be weak, but to others it might be Heaven-sent
Age twenty you’re in jail, twenty-five you’re out on bail
Thirty to forty, you’re feeling like you’re living in hell
That’s why you need to change your mind track while you’re still young
Stop the drugs and the robberies, follow me son

Every time that you cuss it causes another fuss
And even though it might seem nice, it will always cause a fight
You feel you need to curse but this rhyme is gonna burst
Without a blessed four-letter-word, ya’ heard?

Now, you say you want a conflict but you’re the one who caused this
I won’t put up with the nonsense so bury this in a coffin and watch this
It’s a flow without a sin and its beat will make you cringe
You’ve never known a mind like I possess so quit the bullets to the chest
And the vest you think protects because all it does is cause you stress
Yeah, I’m coming out of the East with these street credential beats
Will you listen to me even though I correctly speak?
A rap without a cuss word? It’s like another language
They’ll label me a Satanist and wanna murder me in anguish
But I don’t give a…[laugh]
You thought I was gonna slip
All of you got my bent, if you think I’m a hypocrite
Like Siegel, I speak the truth and like Nelly, I’m number one
Like Drama, I’m getting drastic and like Hova I’m pushin’ funds
I’m in seek of my respect so when you pop this in your deck
Sit back and take a listen as I refuse to neglect…the issue

Every time that you cuss it causes another fuss
And even though it might seem nice, it will always cause a fight
You feel you need to curse but this rhyme is gonna burst
Without a blessed four-letter-word, ya’ heard?

Everybody thinks that they can hang with me, sing this song with me
Thinkin’ they can bang with me, and even ball with me
But you know what? They can’t
Came at me and they got tore up in rank
I’ma pull up beside ya’ in an Escalade
Put my middle finger high and wave it all in your face
Put you in your place and make you think twice about your actions
I’m flyin’ high in this game like Nike Air Max’s

Thi joint, written by myself, once again; is meant for rap fans who don't like the curse words. I feel the curse words are a cover for knowledge. Instead of expressing feelings with intellect, the curse words are replacements for lack of a well-educated vocabulary. BIG props to Will Smith and Pretty Willie

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
