While on tour with Radiohead, Mark Linkous overdosed, fell unconscious and toppled backwards onto his legs, cutting of the blood supply for a good few hours. Chemical build ups in his legs in those few hours meant that he was unable to stand for several months and had difficulty walking for the rest of his life. This is a song about wishing his body still worked as it should.

I love this song. when I was addicted to heroin I smoked way too much speed once and had a minor stroke and couldn't use my right leg for almost a month. it was extremely painful and I was really mad at my stupid self and my stupid fucked up body that didn't let me do anything. this song reminds me of that RIP mark linkous.

i'm pretty sure this ones about his stint in rehab and how much it drove him crazy.

i just thought it was a comment on how dependent on material things the world has become. Examples:
