This is an interesting Billy Joel song, it has a bluegrass feel to it; it is one of my favorite BJ songs, most people only know 2 or 3 songs from his Piano Man album but if you listen to it from begining to end it is a marvolous album and this song is a wonderful start. The topic of this perticular song is that of a traveler who's prayers are not for his own safety and help along his route but for his Baby.
This song is from my most-played album of all time. I doubt I would have made it through high school without Joel to drown out the sound of my father's voice coming from the bottom floor. I used to get up constantly to set the needle back on the beginning of this album. It's my favorite album of Joel's and this is my favorite track even though it's not one of his better known ones. Love this song, love the way it builds up and the bluegrass feel as mentioned in the previous comment. I only heard it from the first time about a year ago. I was slowly making my way back home with not much money to europe from new zealand via the states and got a flight i think from dallas to charlotte. i'd lost my mp3 player so had to listen to the crappy airline 'radio stations' which are just recordings on a loop but one of them on that us air flight that day was playing travelling related songs and this came up. so downloaded when i got home plus a bunch of his other songs to make sure i hadn't missed any other gems!
