Royal Orleans Lyrics

One time love, take care how you use it
Try to make it last all night, And if you take your pick
Be careful how you choose it, Sometimes its hard to feel it bite
Feel it bite.

A man I know, went down to Louisiana,
had himself a bad, bad fight
And when the sun peeked through
John Cameron with Suzanna,
He kissed the whiskers, left & right
Whiskers!

Now, now, now, fright subsides
Out at a hotel in the quarter, our friends check in to pass the night
Now love gets hot, but fire preceded water
Poor whiskers set the room alight.
Whiskers!

Down on Bourbon street, You know it's right
You can see my friend, they run around all through the night
Most everywhere, Until the closet's bare
Run for the razor, Doin' up my hair

New Orleans queens, Sure know how to schmooze it
Maybe for some that seems alright
When I step out, strut down with my sugar
She'd best not talk like Barry White!

One time love, take care how you use it
Try to make it last all night, And if you take your pick
Be careful how you choose it, Sometimes its hard to feel it bite
Feel it bite.

this is a pretty funny song about a Zeppelin band member hooking up with a drag queen and not knowing it before it was too late. the "Royal Orleans" was either a gay club or a hotel near a gay club where the band would go when they were in the area. apparently there they didn`t get bothered as much for autographs.

Indeed, Royal Orleans was a hotel where John Paul Jones mistakenly took a drag queen up to a room. One of them fell asleep with a joint in hand, and started a small fire "fire preceded water" which led to the amusing discovery. Incidentally "John Cameron" was an old studio rival of Jones' back in the early 60s, so they used the name as a joke.

Haha, I'm from Louisiana and it's so funny to hear the best band in the world who are British talk about a city that is an hour away from me. =) And it's really funny that John Paul Jones picked up a transvestite hooker.

I alway's thought it was John Bonham who picked up the transvestite hooker.

It wasn't JPJ, couldn't of been, had to be some one like Bonham. Jpj too respectable.

In response to the song and lyrics, its not impossible that this happened to JPJ. So what if hes a respectable person, it could have happened to anybody. And if they were drinking or on any other drugs, it would have been quite easy. And in response to Adman, their fourth album was not released on Aleister Crowley's birthday, it was released on November 8th, and Aleister Crowley was born on October 12th. I suggest not throwing people off with your Christian bias opinions and research a little bit before saying something like that.
