Q&A

Newark Wilder Lyrics

Plane driver
The forces against you
The rain
I know everybody wants to put you down
But I know everybody's gonna put me down, won't you
I want you
Because I'm lushing
To feel you
But I won't set you down
I don't need to
Because I'm lushing
To feel you
But I won't set you down
I don't need to

Fly, fly, fly, fly, fly, fly, fly
Don't try, try, try, try, try
It's a brand new era
It feels great
It's a brand new era
But it came too late

She won't let you know that -
Alright to touch her
She won't let you wait for me
For me to touch you

Crowds of the people
And voices and steeples
And wedding rings
Wild are the horses
And break up divorces
In separate rooms from

My, my, my, my, my, my, my
I love your tinted eyes
So bad, so bad, so so bad
So so bad

She won't let me break you out
When the picture's cut it free well the bitch is cunning three
Unless there is enough of us left is enough
and it's simple stuff by me and it's simple stuff i need
can't you see the stuff i need?
can't you see?
Can't you stuff me?
Stuff me.

SM sez:

"That one's about car thieves and sex with three people and all those sick things. I sang it totally falsetto, which is like being a woman to me. It's also quite stoned. The song switches from a car thief to a nasty, creepy cabaret. Like, Mark [Ibold] made this reference to a girl pulling a string of pearls up her crotch, something really lewd. I wouldn't want to be involved in that kind of scene, though. I'm on the puritan side of the underground."

"My my my....." I love that line

it is more innocent then you think. ego vs Super ego battle, culture wants you to be very sexual.

"...It's a brand new era It feels great It's a brand new era But it came too late..."

I always thought that was about the whole Alternative Music boom (and later bust) of the early 90's.
