Measuring a summer's day, I only finds it slips away to grey
The hours, they bring me pain
Tangerine, Tangerine, living reflection from a dream
I was her love, she was my queen, and now a thousand years between
Thinking how it used to be
Does she still remember times like these?
To think of us again?
And I do
Tangerine, Tangerine, living reflection from a dream
I was her love, she was my queen, and now a thousand years between
The hours, they bring me pain
Tangerine, Tangerine, living reflection from a dream
I was her love, she was my queen, and now a thousand years between
Thinking how it used to be
Does she still remember times like these?
To think of us again?
And I do
Tangerine, Tangerine, living reflection from a dream
I was her love, she was my queen, and now a thousand years between

my father told me that when he broke up with his high school sweetheart he listened to this song over and over...and now that I'm going through the same thing (well, college sweetheart)...i see in what state he was in...nothing like some 70's Blues to really dig into your soul
I really wish people my age would listen to more of this instead of todays music like one direction and all the shitty hip hop i know as much as any adult about classic rock and im proud of that this has to be one of my fav zep songs though
Not a lot of lyrics...but beautiful lyrics none the less. I love this song. It is by far one of my favorite Led Zeppelin songs. Just the guitar alone makes the song worth listening to. I especially like the pause before he says/sings "And I do." That just seems to add to the song even more.
oh definately and the way the guitar sounds right after... goodness, it's amazing.
yah man beautiful lyrics
This is currently my favorite zep song. Like some of the people before me posted, I think this is a great song to listen to when your heart is broken. This is one of those songs that means different things at different times in your life. If I had to choose one song to listen to for the rest of my life, this would be it!
Favorite Line: "I Was Her Love, She Was My Queen, And Now A Thousand Years In Between"
Anyone seen the movie with Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet called "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind?" This song reminds me of that movie...
Funny you mention that. I've always thought that Sean Lennon's song "Parachute" would be a perfect song for that movie. This song would suffice as well though.
man, go see almost famous. the most poignant scene in it is the bus driving off into the sunset at the end of the movie with tangerine playing. if that doesnt send shivers down your spine than youre a soul-less freak. plus almost famous has like 235089 other zeppelin songs so its worth it. and its got billy crudup!
YES.
Great song! I just love it when you come across a lesser known songs that really makes you think...
Here's a tasty tidbit of Zeppelin trivia for all you hardcores...
You know that little part at the beginning? That was a totally different song. Paige and Plant agreed that it was the greatest song they'd ever done and possibly ever would do. Unfortunately when they recorded it, it got erased and no one could remember how it went. That was all that was left of the song, and they threw it into the beginning of the song.
Enjoy that!
AND Tangerine is also a fruit! ^-^
