Communication Breakdown Lyrics
Hey, girl, you'll drive me to ruin.
I don't know what it is that I like about you, but I like it a lot.
Won't let me hold you, Let me feel your lovin' charms.
I'm having a nervous breakdown, Drive me insane!
Hey, babe, I wanna tell you that I love you so.
I wanna hold you in my arms, yeah!
I'm never gonna let you go,'Cause I like your charms.
* Chorus
this song is about liking someone and having so many things to say to the but when the time comes nothing comes out!!
this song is so easy to relate to, everyone has that person that they like so much and jsut breakdown and dont know what to say around them or what they really like about them to begin with
"this song is possibly the birth of heavy metal"
well the band certainly was
Yeah this is one of their best for sure. Page said it was one of the most difficult songs to play live because the constant downstrokes are so tiring. Evidence of that can be heard on the BBC live versions as he adjusts the riff a little to give himself a break. Oh yeah, this just in---Grobus is an idiot.
More breaking news----Most of Led Zeppelin's early(and some not-so-early) lyrics were ripped off from somehwere. "Dazed and Confused" is a rip-off of Jake Holmes' "Days of Confusion". "Bring it on Home" is a direct rip-off of Sonny Boy Williamson. Lyrics were lifted from Bukka White's "Shake 'Em on Down" for "Hats Off to (Roy) Harper" and "Custard Pie". "Boogie With Stu" is a rip-off of Ritchie Valens' "Ooh, My Head". You'd have to throw away a huge chunk of their catalogue if you dismiss the songs that were "borrowed". Nowadays more proper writing credit is given on listings for Zeppelin songs. But it's like Jimmy Page himself said (the guy who posted before this, not the real Jimmy Page), none of these people could do any better, and the music has obviously been completely re-worked in every one of those songs.
This song is definitly about try to talk to a girl and you dont know what to say. I just had that experience when the girl i liked introduced herself to me. Great Poem, Great Guitar, Great Music.
About a relationship gone awry
The lyrics can relate to problems we have with dating. Now when it comes to the music, this is one Zeppelin's best songs. I really "really" liked Page's solo, it's really hard rock.
Very easy to relate to as my interpretation is that the narrator of the song is into a girl but his communication breaks down and he can't speak because she's so attractive or whatever.
damn everyone feels this way. Like you can't talk around them but you can't stop thinking about them long enough to pay attention to your obligations and then you finally tell them and you never want them to leave.
Gosh this song is great. you can appreciate it just for that
