Don't Pass Me By Lyrics
I listen for your footsteps coming up the drive
Listen for your footsteps but they don't arrive
Waiting for your knock, dear, on my old front door
I don't hear it
Does it mean you don't love me anymore?
I hear the clock a-ticking on the mantel shelf
See the hands a-moving but I'm by myself
I wonder where you are tonight and why I'm by myself
I don't see you
Does it mean you don't love me anymore?
Sorry that I doubted you
I was so unfair
You were in a car crash and you lost your hair
You said that you would be late an hour or two
I said that's all right
I'm waiting here just waiting to hear from you
Don't pass me by, don't make me cry, don't make me blue
Because you know, daring, I love only you
You'll never know it hurt me so
How I hate to see you go
Don't pass me by
Don't make me cry

This song could have a 'secret' meaning referring to paul's accident and supposed death. it says "You were in a car crash and you lost your hair" and paul's hair got burnt off... could refer to that, also there are some other things but i cant tell about them, i dont know the rest's facts very well.

I LOVE RINGO
all you guys need to shut the fuck up. seriously, fucken crybabies. The people in here that actually discuss the meaning of this song and what it means to them, I dont mind. But all the other no life losers, get lost.
Now, what this song means to me. I get the feel that ringo has a girlfriend and pretty much she isnt coming around anymore. He's simply asking "Does it mean you dont love me anymore?" Then the chorus explains why he dosnt want her to leave.
great song overall. While My Guitar Gently Weeps is a boring ass song. I love george's song writing and all, but that is just a boring song that pretty much goes nowhere. This is very good and catchy song. Much better than most of the songs on the white album. But they're also much better songs on the white album than this one.
This is all a matter of opinion, not fact. So don't waste your time trying to talk shit on my opinions.
Paul's apparent death in a car crash was the secret in all the lyrics, album covers, playback phrases in many of the songs . The following Movie/ Documentary ... Paul McCartney Really Is Dead: The Last Testament Of George Harrison explains the Folk Legend of McCarney's death. It can be found on http://www.faulmccartney.com/# or http://vimeo.com/28273681
This was the first track that Ringo Starr wrote for The Beatles, although the fact that he was considering writing this for the purposes of the title are quashed given that he had been toying with a song with this title for longer than he had been considering writing his debut Beatles' track.
paul doesnt live hes is infact dead and very much so but anywho this is by far the best starky song ever he wasnt a great singer/ songwriter but he sure can whale on the drums so yea paul was decapatated buddy and if you have anymore questions about the beatles be happy to im me on aim hawkisgay56238
I find it very cute that you are so convinced that Paul died and Ringo wrote this about him. (Did you do a little too much tripping back in the day, mate?) I've watched all of the Paul is dead documentaries and read so many articles about it, because it fascinates me that people would actually believe this to be true. It is conceivable that he could have died in a car crash like it was reported. It's also possible that he could have been replaced by the guy who won the Paul McCartney look alike contest the year before...

It is conceivable that he could have died in a car crash like it was reported. It's also possible that he could have been replaced by the guy who won the Paul McCartney look alike contest the year before his supposed death. But it's implausible to think that they could have found someone with the same degree of talent that Paul had and also look almost identical to him. The entire thing is very interesting, but it's very much a fantasy. It's not reality.
What I find really amusing, though, is the fact that all the "Paul is dead" conspiracy theorists don't realize that The Beatles weren't giving off signs in their songs, album covers, etc..., that Paul was dead. I think they found it absolutely maddening (in jest) that people would go to such lengths to align everything they said or did to them sending signals to their audience that Paul was actually.
The Beatles were all known for being merry pranksters. I think they did feed into the entire conspiracy theory in a joking manner for their own enjoyment, just to see how far people would take it. They were quite clever and cheeky like that. The mere fact that it's still being talked about over forty years later shows just how brilliant they really were.
This is one of my favourite songs from the White Album. It doesnt exactly stand head and shoulders with songs like Happiness is a Warm Gun, Helter Skelter, While My Guitar Gently Weeps etc, but its still a really solid song. If any band but the Beatles made this itd be their career definer :-p
this song brings me back. one of my first memories is dancing around to it at my 3rd bday party. it sounded really good all loud and everything. :)
I think Grobus hit the nail on the head. This is such an underrated song because it's by the Beatles, and they set the standard so high that some of their songs don't get the attention due them.
