A Blessing In Tragedy Lyrics
A blessing in tragedy. Burning what's left in effigy. Wreckage, when there's nothing left. Wreckage, the birthright of regret. A place where the truth can hide. A place where falling egos survive. A place where fears rust through pride. A place where heroes go to die. Self-dilusion, self-destruction, falling so short of faith. An empty shell, a carcass left of greed. An empty shell, in the shade grows another weed. And you wear the scars well. Merciless liar. How many times until your shadow haunts you too?

what an awesome song. i saw them live last week and they are amazing on stage as well as on their cd. great band right here.
I think this song is about how everything in life is meant to serve a purpose, to teach a lesson.
maybe talking about war heroes....
One of the best songs by Darkest hour. Luv this band... Whats not to like??

That part may be talking about a battlefield but I don't see much of a connection with the other part of the song.

Which seems to talk about someone hated for being greedy. but the "An empty shell, in the shade grows another weed" confuses me
