Dude this song is about fat rich people. You're so fat you can't walk half a flight of stairs to the mezzanine. But it's alright because liposuction is chump change. You don't have to move aside and let a skinny feller through, do you?

I think it would be funnier if it was "move aside and let the mango through".

Every time I see a sign on the subway that says "Elevator To Mezzanine", I think of this song.

This song is about an usher working at a fancy theatre. It's from the point of view of both the usher and his manager. His manager is telling him not to get in the way of the rich, fat people..."Move aside and let the man go through". And the usher is also a daydreamer, so he's imagning if he "stole someone else's wave." And the manager is like, wake up dummy! Tell the patrons to "take the mezzanine, chump..."

The key bit is 'change and it's on'

bon bon is french for sweets or candy.... so 'super sweet'

'change and it's on .... super sweet'

It basically says that to reach your goals (whatever they are) you need to CHANGE.

'Too fat fat you must cut lean'. This could be meant literally but nothing in the video aligns with this song being about physical weight so I don't think it is. It is more likely about the metaphorical weight of ideas you hold onto that stop you from changing at all.

Has anyone ever put it more succinctly? Change and it's on. How powerful is that? Pretty damn powerful.
