Good song, and very straightfoward. Some social commentaries on what Darren, and many others, think is wrong with the world that we live in today. Also, that even though there are these problems, some peoples escapism (Darren's obviously for example) is music. Either creating it, listening to it... it's just such a very intimate thing if you think about it, because not everyone likes the same music, not everyone hears it the same way, not everyone interperts it in the same manner... it's very cathardic and can help you relax and temporarily forget about all the harsh realities of the world which most of us have little to no control over.
Yes, I know what you mean Misseverus, as a music lover I find peace and joy in it. I remember when Spin came out, this one was one of the first that hooked me, simply because that's the way I felt it, music can turn your day around. When I got that cd (which took me months to get) it would be my joy and almost reason for living lol (truly it was), and I used to jump around this song and singing it loud lol..ahh I was so young back then.... Seriously...music can take you on a trip...make you forget your troubles, or go deeper into them (like in TTATS)...but anyway you want it, it's an experience beyond explanation.
