You Never Know Lyrics
sun still stone
watching
we walk by them and hear voices yeah
no one ever stops to talk of things we'd rather do
they never did
what if God shuffled by
one day we might say
we're angry not afraid
like breathing just to breathe
that we might find some reason
but there's much to go round
that's what's wrong with the world
don't lose the dreams inside your head
they're only there until you're dead
dream
lying on the roof
counting
the stars that fill the sky
wondering why
someone out there really isn't looking back down on me
you never know
so much space to believe
only when you're small
a moment follows the cause
there's no one but you see
hey there the moon is chasing me
and i worried if i looked away she'd be gone
don't lose the dreams inside your head
they're only there until you're dead
dream
oh oh oh la la la
one day fill your brain
with no cares in the world
the mellow tune come to play
she's all mine just for a day
and there's no time to waste
in the play of this game
don't lose the dreams inside your head
they're only there until you're dead
dream
unforgiveable down
it won't be so long now
out of the darkness comes light
like a flash
you think you can you think you can
sometimes that is the problem
dream
is it your dream
dream
spilling on being
and he fell on them
and every day should be a good day to die
oh oh fall down
it won't be so long now
i do love i'll hand love
i find it hard to explain
how i got here
i think i can i think i can
but then again i will falter
dream
i think i can i think i can
i think i can i think i can
oh dream
little darling
dream
spilling on being
we fell from them
watching
no one ever stops to talk of things we'd rather do
they never did
one day we might say
we're angry not afraid
like breathing just to breathe
that we might find some reason
that's what's wrong with the world

WOW this song is extremly new it was first played 4-7-02 i listen to it all the time it is such a great song i am shocked that it was posted here i hardly see it anywhere on the web
This song really does rock. This is just a sample of how good Busted Stuff will be. I can't wait to get my hands on a copy of this new album!
This will be the best song on Busted Stuff. I just got back from the show tonight. It was awesome. Over both nights they played about every song that is going to be on the new album. This is some of the best music Dave has written. I can't wait until the cd comes out.
hmmmm meanings.... maybe Dave continuing his series of songs questioning how things have turned out in the world (spotlight, proudest monkey, monkey man). although the lyrics are amazing like always, what really makes me crazy is the complicated time in this song. the 3/8 with carter's duples going into the 5 is just insane. goes to show how dave has evolved as a songwriter.
This song's sound is extreamly powereful. Like Grey Street i almost get chills at the "think i can..." part. I believe it's vaguly about holding onto your dreams and even though you may get old and your life is differant than you imagined, you should still aspire to your dreams.
It's been a long time since Dave's written a song as powerful and as moving as "You Never Know." When the band debuted this song in April, it was already an incredible piece of music. I can't wait to see how this song - like all Dave songs - develops over the course of touring... I can't imagine it being any better than it already is!! "You Never Know" and "Grace is Gone" will definitely be the highlights of Busted Stuff.
i cant wait to see dave sing these new songs from "busted stuff" live on august 2nd!...all his songs are heard best live!
just a little interesting thing i do with all songs, not just daves....read them from bottom to top....finish to start...i found that alot of the better songs ever written still make sense read this way...alot of dave songs still make sense if you do this...just a cool little thing i thought people might have fun with
finally hearing the studio version of this song is a blessing. Since hearing it in concert, ive been waiting to hear a great studio version, and dave has certainly brought it together for this great masterpiece.
"you never know" follows the 'self reflection' themes of many of dmb's songs. great lyrics, great beat, just a overwhelmingly great song. Let the love flow!
"every day should be a good day to die"
I love this song... the lyrics are absolutely great. I was at the show that he first played it, and I was so excited that I was one of the first to hear it, because he'd never played it before. I think it's beautiful, and I love his new album, it rocks so much! I'll be seeing him three more times in concert next week, and I can't wait! Hopefully he'll play this once (I'm sure he will)!
This is my favorite song on busted stuff. Its a great song to just sit back and listen to, its as simple as that.
