I Would Hurt A Fly

The noise is an unexplicable thing about humanity that makes him sick, annoying like a fly. He can't figure out where the source is, if he could he could solve the world's problems. He goes to bed at night feeling like he wasted another day... I relate to this entire album more than anything...

this is a spectacular song. the way he turns the figure of speech on its head is brilliant and somewhat creepy.

he's talking about a girl that he's done something he shouldn't have with. "let you go to sleep feeling bad as me"=sleeping with someone and they both know they're wrong for doing it. no one else knows whats going on, and its bothering him "i can't get that sound you make out of my head.... no one else seems to be noticing" and he feels bad about himself for it. he's saying that what he's done is mean, that he's a mean person. the phrase "you wouldn't hurt a fly" and "you don't have a mean bone in your body" refer to someone really really nice, who wouldn't do something mean, even as small as hurting a fly. but he would hurt a fly. because he's got a mean bone in his body.

well where do i even start, in my opinion i believe this is one of BTS's most powerful and meaningful songs. i am surprised there haven't been more comments! i think the song is very haunting in a way with the string instruments. to me it symbolizes an addiction. "I can't get that sound you make out of my head, i can't even figure out whats making it." refers to the constant thought and nagging/obsessiveness of addiction and the pain that comes with it. Almost as if it makes you a different person. "There's a mean bone in my body, it's connected to the problems that i won't take for an answer and i wont take that from you, because i'd hurt a fly." i love that line...it's so raw and true....and well everyone has problems whether it be a serious addiction or day to day battles. this song just strikes a chord with me and will always ring true.

He is comparing women problems that are keeping him awake at night to a constantly buzzing fly.

He has reached the point where if it was a fly, he would kill it and although he cant kill his lady friend he hopes that she isnt sleeping well either. A little bit of bitterness but the song is awesome.

i dont think he is comparing women problems that are keeping him awake. i take it to be something different only because i kinda feel this way sometimes. i think he's talking about everyone and although we try to be pleasant to each other on the outside or at least he does, i think he is really just like hateful or has this intense hate/meaness towards people probably because people are ugly in general/predictable/boring/hateful/ it can go on and on with the things that can really annoy people. i dont know. to me personally i really find myself hating or disliking almost everyone. a lot of me just doesnt care and its because i feel people are useless to me and its sad and i feel bad about that and i feel lonely in my place in the world. maybe thats what he means when he says "let you go to sleep, feeling bad as me" sometimes people care so much that it just hurts when nothing changes and no one seems to care themselves. no one notices and its annoying. like a fly.
