I'm surprised a cover of this song actually turned out good.
I think he is talking about he isnt too lucky wit the chix...hes talking about running away from girls and he says "it's hard to be lucky in love." Hes calling to the heavens or god or something to help him out and send him the perfect girl, "Looking for love/Calling heaven above/Send me an Angel."
some people state the obvious and it bugs me...
the fact that this was originally a pop song makes it almost certain that the lyrics will be blaitantly obvious... but im sure everyone appreciates that clarification ademakid11... cough.. heh
